The distinctions are subtle. The most significant difference in these products is the weave which is constructed around their primary purposes. Sunbrella Marine and Awning fabrics are woven tightly creating a heavy product with an ability to repel water and dissipate sunlight for a better shading effect. Sunbrella upholstery fabric is often lighter, with a more supple feel. Sunbrella upholstery weaves are not as tight and may let water through the fabric though no water will be absorbed.
